Choose a genre that suits your books what you are writing. For this instance; you are writing fiction as your primary genre, you can include fictional places what you made yourself, or rely on public domain resources for inspiration,–or get inspired by other creators.
If you are writing a Christian book… well, I am a non-Christian, you may need to find resources that are relevant for a book what you are writing.
If you are writing a children’s book; you need to keep it free of erotica, and free of profanity. Don’t believe in these publishing myths. You need to use extra care when publishing children’s books for schools, and other places.
If you are writing romance fiction, you need to write your story wisely. Always use common sense when writing a book for certain audiences.
You can always visit your local public library, to browse books published by everyday people around the world. Carefully research electronic, or physical books.

You can use the following methods to write a book,–depending on your household’s budget, or if you have enough resources.
Technology moves forward very fast, you need to choose a method wisely!
Write By Hand
Writing a book by hand is a fun way to share your thoughts, stories, or other entertaining content what you want to write for your audience. Typically, writing a book by hand is like adding a unique form making your book stand out.
In order to write a book by hand; you need the following supplies:
Each person writes the different way, and each person has a style of writing. You can make your book as unique as possible. That is useful to ensure your work is too impossible to copy by hand.
Adding graphics can be used to illustrate your books with a budget-friendly method. If you are skilled enough, and you have the right tools, you can make a graphic for your book like like its taken from a camera. You can add black lines to make your characters and objects easy to identify. If you can make a perfect graphic novel… you can use your art skills as you write your beautiful book. Comic books use this strategy too!
If your work is text only, and you have no intention to make graphics, but make custom chapter headers, you can use this format to write a book by hand too.
If you are making a large book what you are writing, and it contain series of stories to read, you can compile your book to have series of stories to read,–useful for people who write a collection of stories.
You put your creativity to a higher degree! No AI, no computers used, no distraction.
You can have your work ready to be self-published, and you can finalize it with your computer, and do final edits. Useful for enhancing your final product.
Your drawings, writing, and your designs are unique, so people can find out who wrote this masterpiece.
Like conventional cartoon creators; you can really make your characters unique as possible. Each graphic is unique within your work, you need to practice drawing characters with a consistency.
Overtime; your work can have more value when your finished product is ready to be available to purchase via any store where books are sold.
Advantages
Unique by design, you are a skilled artist. If you add graphics; you can customize how your graphics are going to stand out. However; if you are adding text to your graphics, you need to ensure your text is visible to digital scanners, and anyone’s bare eyes, you need to make your text easy to read with your artist skills.
No electricity is used, but you rely on physical items to make your works without drawing any load from your grid,–saving energy for using a computer later.
If you have a heavy text-based books without graphics, you can squeeze in more words,–useful for skipping graphics altogether.
You can convert your work into digital works later on down the road. Useful for writing physical books, and doing final edits by using a computer to finalize your manuscript.
You can keep a copy of your physical work for your records,–useful for registering copyrights of your works, and ensuring you have a physical proof copy of your work.
Disadvantages
Your shelf may be overloaded with your finished works.
If you hire a person who will digitize your work to convert it into a book for publishing down the road; you need to be very careful when choosing someone… or a company who will digitize your work for you.
Overtime, your work may be end up worn down, or your work can lose parts of a page… or even your work is stored in a dirty location,–causing your works to be end up impossible to publish.
Theft of your work is possible,–caused by your entitled parent, brother, sister, or anyone who is either nosy… or even have no business spying on your works. Well, you have rights to protect your work. If you believe your work is stolen, you need to get help from your local resources.
Cost of writing paper may vary,–depending on quality, and usage volume. If you are concern about environmental impacts; you need to ensure you have a proper recycling program in place. Paper is susceptible to theft; you need to ensure you have proper security for your empty papers for drawing/writing.
Speaking about paper costs, and your works; you need a copier for making backup copies of your work in color, and you must have a high quality machine for the best results.
Pens and other writing utensils must be properly stored, and each desk must have supplies stored properly.
You may need to ensure you have enough space for your studio.
Use A Typewriter
If you write books the classic way, and you don’t have a computer handy, you can use this machine to write a book. However; typewriters don’t have angle brackets, and other symbols what we are familiar with typical computers what we currently own. Well, you can still write books with this machine, and avoid distractions by other notifications.
Most inmates in prisons use typewriters to write letters to family and friends, or writing books. And for some prisons, they don’t have any computers for inmates,–applies to some prisons where sex predators are housed.
If you are a sex offender, and you were released from prison; you are NOT allowed to own your own computer if you were convicted of sex crimes on the internet. Activists are trying to set a goal to keep sex offenders at bay via digital darkness. However; a sex offender can still write books without use of our internet, computers, and other devices. However; their works are subject to search and inspection. If this is the case; you need to strategically target your audience because, you’re NOT supposed to be with minors! There are some books that are written by sex offenders, and I think they got help publishing their works, I don’t know if their earnings are forwarded for the purpose of paying fines, or something.
If you have an office where you use your typewriter., you can keep inventory of typing paper, ink ribbons, and even binders to bind your books for the purpose of preparing your book to be published for the future.
You get more focus as you write books without any online distractions.
Depending on your style of writing, it may take some pages. If you were writing a light novel with lots of dialog, you may need more paper to support your work. Most Japanese novels often use lots of dialog, but you need to compare other works. If you are writing like a normal author with paragraphs, you use less paper.
In order to convert your typed work into an electronic copy, you need a scanner, and proper equipment for your work to be accessible for electronic distributors who will distribute your work. This is useful for making edits for your work, or inserting images to your work.
With a physical copy what you’ve written, you can use it as your proof of ownership,–if you registered your copyrighted work.
You may need to leave empty spaces for adding pictures by hand.
In order for your typewriter to work overtime, it must be maintained on a regular basis.
You need to have backup copies of your work. This is necessary to keep your books what you are writing available.
Advantages
No power usage is necessary (for non-powered machines only). This is a electricity-free way of writing books. However; electric versions can use some power when in use. For some typewriters; you can even change font sizes by changing parts.
As a typist, you can use your brain as you write a story. You can get input from some people who aren’t able to write by typing on a machine, or if they have trouble typing on this machine.
Disadvantages
You must have a supply of ink ribbons/cartridges for your typewriter to write. However; color of ink, and even paper may be a factor when typing up your story.
Paper… the same way for writers who write by hand has a similar cost.
Noise may be a factor, you need special equipment to reduce the volume.
Maintenance is a factor when performing repairs.
Depending on paper usage; it may vary from one writer to the another.
You need proper security equipment to prevent theft of your machinery.
What’s mentioned for people who write by hand; you need to ensure your inventory isn’t taken,–causing loss, or worse.
Use A Computer
If you are a typist, and you write digitally, you can write a book with ANY computer of choice, for this instance; I use Ubuntu as my daily driver for my computing power for my machines. With a computer; there’s no need to have paper to stock up, pens to stock, and you don’t need to have art supplies to stock up,–unless you are doing conversions for writing electronic books only.
You rely on a machine to write your work. You type it up, just like using a typewriter. Skilled typists use computers to write books as fast as possible (with quality). However; you need electricity to use this machine. If you have a decent computer; you can write books with it. Writing doesn’t use processing power as watching/creating videos! You use less energy, and you use less resources. If you are a serious writer, and you write books with heavy text content; you may need to have a large disk to store your books what you write.
You can instantly save your files to save your work for later.
You can insert images, add styles, format text, and even check word count to ensure your book is long enough. Longer books written with quality tend to soak in more readers,–if you correctly market your book.
If your book is heavy with images; you may need to ensure your work doesn’t get over a max size to upload your work. You can always to ensure your images are ready for use. Never overload your work with images only. You need to use less images when writing a book with lots of text inside.
You can insert links to your website, a logo for your brand, and even your own work what you did by hand, and scanned via a scanner.
You can use any word editing program of choice, for this instance; I use LibreOffice as my primary office suite for writing books. Microsoft does have an office suite too, but I don’t use this program at this time. Google Docs via Google Drive is a free option what I sometimes use,–if needs are required to use this program. However; use of these cloud programs doesn’t always means better! Local software on your computer is the best when writing books. If a cloud service goes down, or experiences a serious crash; you may lose ALL of your works. You should always ensure you have a local copy of your book when online services experiences these serious events.
If you are NOT a fond of using cloud services, and you are serious about your privacy, you can have a local storage of your works at your office of your home, or studio. This is useful for most people who don’t trust online providers who often cut corners, and NOT listen to customers. Running a cloud service takes money, energy, and resources. All of that rushing is a known issue. Baby steps should be a priority when running online services.
Advantages
No paper use necessary, saves on trees in our forests. You edit your work instantly, no rewriting paragraphs from scratch, and no need to deal with mistakes what you left in your studio.
If you have a cloud account; your work is protected, and no person will look at your work,–depending on where you are located.
Ideal for digitizing your old works what you need to bring to life.
Ideal for publishing physical books, and electronic books. However; you usually write with a keyboard.
If you are using a computer with a screen that receives input via a stylus; you can emulate writing on paper. Adding graphics can be ideal for keeping your skills current.
If you are blind; you can write a book like normal.
Computers are reliable, and you can edit and update your manuscript to remove content that is NOT kosher, such as unwanted sexual languages, profanity, references of nudity, etc.
Disadvantages
Electricity is required.
You must own this machine by purchasing one at your local computer store.
You need to have a knowledge of how your machine works.
Typing skills required.
You need to perform upgrades to your computer, such as upgrading storage.
You need to have proper equipment when you have computers in your studio.
You must choose your best software that is suitable for your writing needs.
If you are a sex offender; your computer may be searched remotely. If you are required to abstain from computer usage, owning a computer may be right for you.
You need to run your computers to ensure your machines are currently storing your works.
Use Baby Steps
Never rush writing! You can’t rush art!! Take your time, and use your head. You can enjoy writing a book as you take your time off of work,–after you arrived home from work. Baby steps are easier, and you can take some time when writing.
When you take your time with baby steps, do the following when writing a book:
Pick A Gentle Music To Listen To
Use Japanese meditation music as your primary source of music, or Classical music as a second option by either using a disc player via your stereo what you own, or use a dedicated computer that is dedicated to play music.
Choose A Place To Sit As You Write A Book
Pick a suitable place to sit when writing a book, always choose a place that is safe, gun-free, and secure. A public library may be ideal for writing a book with any of these other writers who write as a living.
If you belong to a writing club, or any membership via any establishment, you may need to keep your schedule current. However; you may need to ensure safety should be a priority.
If you have a studio for writing, use it, this is useful when you write a a business.
If You Have Children
If you have children at home, arrived from school; you may need to speak to your children about your new writing session, and you have some business to take care of, or if you are open to have input for your book what you are writing.
If you are receiving input from your children, choose wisely.
Always have a place for your children to play safe, that way; they can reduce distractions as you write a book.
Ensure noise levels are down. If writing hour is in, convince your children to be creative as they write books as your large project.
Safety Should Always Go First
Safety should be a priority, this si necessary to ensure your children should play safe… and stay safe! Household items should be kept out of reach, such as matches, and other sharp objects.

Although; children learn by play, but children often don’t have any common sense when play, insome cases; disasters strike, ranging from a child playing with matches, and hiding inside a cushion… a person sits down, and fire breaks out,–resulting to serious injuries or death! Parents who left children unattended without supervision that is genuine is a known factor. Big brothers and big sisters are NOT substitutes for licensed supervisors who are available in your local neighborhood.
If you discovered ANY of your children involved in any unnecessary horseplay, or doing practical jokes, such as adding a sharp item to injure someone as they attempt to sit on any of your furniture, stop it immediately! NEVER EVER spank because, that makes it worse. If you suspected certain shows on TV is to blame; block any channel that has this kind of content. You can prevent this by doing the following:
- Lock away all push-pins used for bulletin boards, sewing needles, safety pins, sewing pins, knives, lighters, matches, and other dangerous items with a locking key, or a PIN. Your children shall NEVER look what you are typing. If your child has behavior problems, call a licensed specialist for recommendations when improving safety.
- Keep any of these dangerous items out of reach of children. That will prevent children from using any practical jokes with these items. For this instance, a child of yours has placed a sharp push pin on someone’s chair, or a place to sit, causing some to be injured with this item. If laughing and screeching has came, or any behavior, DO NOT SPANK! Take them to s specialist immediately! An injured victim may needed to seek medical attention (strongly recommended). Revoke privileges with common sense. If you suspected they’ve learned to do this act from some entertaining content, you may need to block certain TV channels, or revoke their TV hour altogether, but only consume educational content only.
- Educate your children about why doing this stunt, or act is bad, and why they should avoid it. Always appoint specialists when you are trying to educate your children about some dangers of horseplay and practical jokes like this. This book, “A Bad Week For The Three Bears” has one example about Junior has done a practical joke, causing his teacher to be stabbed by an object when she sits on her chair, doing her duties as a teacher. Showing off, bullying, causing trouble, and other factors can be a source of a problem with your children.
Writing As An Activity
If ANY of your children has a special assignment to write a book via a school, or any educational institution; ensure the following has been done:
- TVs are powered off – Distractions via TV can result your children NOT writing books what you expected to do so.

Implement Your Writing Schedule
Use a calendar program, or any reminder program to remind yourself about writing a book on a certain time.
If you have a traditional paper calander, write your reminders.
If you have a digital calendar program; set a reminder.
You can also compile a reminder list, and things to do when you set your time as you write a book with baby steps.
Write like normal
Use any of theme methods when writing a book with time.
Save your work often. This is very important.
Take breaks when writing a book on a computer.
The more time as you write; the faster your book can be written. Don’t forget other things to do. If you have a baby to feed, put it on a schedule, if you have a rabbit to walk… put it on a schedule.
Split Your Writing Sessions To Days
If your book requires more days to complete; set a specific time on each day by using a calendar what you currently have in your office or studio..
If you write during the day, write during the day.
If you write during the evenings, write during the evenings.
If you write after lunch, write after lunch.
Read Anyone’s Books What You’ve Checked Out Via Public Libraries
If you still need inspirations; check out other authors who wrote books for many years. Be as unique as possible as you write a book, and think up your own ideas. However; always use common sense.
Ask a librarian about similar books what you are interested reading. If you write a book about cowboys on a farm, you can find a book about equestrianism, or similar books that are available.
If you are writing a book about mice, and you can find a book that is relevant with your work what you are writing.
Choose A Self-Publishing Platform Wisely
Find a suitable self-publishing platform that may be suitable for publishing your books what you’ve written. Always note which book goes to certain genres. This is necessary to ensure you don’t clutter your published works at libraries or stores. Don’t spam their system. Always use common sense when self-publishing your works. Always choose a method of payment wisely.
If your books are “DRM-Free” and you choose public libraries as your source of obtaining readers who want to read your books, you need to properly advertise your book what you are writing. Avoid scamming your customers. Always check book descriptions, tags, and other factors. You can always review what you’ve written as a way to confirm your work is written with quality, and care.
Avoid price gouging! Price your books with a reasonable price. Only price your books with a high price when your work requires as much quality what you are putting into your book waht you’ve written. If you are a skilled writer who writes as a living, take your time polishing your work,–before publishing. If you need to update your work, update it,–if you have the resources to do so.
Check reviews, don’t let automated bots fool you. Always ensure your product is high in quality. You as an author must ensure you are getting valid number of units sold.
Now… I Am A Parent Who Is An Author… I Written My First Book… I Received My First Earnings… Now What?
Always ensure you take care of business. Don’t use your earned money to support your children just yet. Instead; do the following tasks:
Take Care Of Your Debts (if you have some)
Credit card debt, and other debts must be taken care of. This is the step to get these things out of your way.
If you have internet bills to tackle, take care of them.
If you have other debts to tackle; take care of them.
Ensure You Have Enough Money To Care For Your Children
Use your earned money from your published books to upgrade to better food for your children to eat, and ensure you have a backup plan to ensure you don’t have any mistakes left behind. If you successfully used baby steps when you take care of other businesses, you can continue on with your writing skills. Your children depends on you. Never be greedy! If you need to earn more; you can write more books.
Write More Books (optional)
If you are writing more books, and you are ensuring your set of books what you are writing reaches your audience, always rely on a public library,–unless your books are erotic… and they require people to pay to read your books via a subscription model. If you kept 100 books on a shelf; and you kept them kosher; your books will be read by anyone down the road. Public libraries must have a suitable budget to have books on their shelves.
